Barbara Swanson has a lens for every one of our planet’s natural worlds.  A coastal California resident with a special flair for shorebirds (and more recently, all birds), the winter and spring months call her out to the wonders of the Southwestern Deserts with the annual unfolding of wildflowers and surprising abundance of wildlife.  Her photo accolades are numerous among juried shows and also include popular recognition, such as the People’s Choice Award at the Del Mar Fair Exposition.

Galleries of her photographic work can also be seen at barbara.photos, whereas here there is more personal emphasis put to her photography via stories, including some travelogue where it might be helpful.  Plus, you’ll notice a few technical factoids and explanations (her professional training is in a life science field).  Her photography is very grounded and natural to follow, getting to the heart of things at the level of appreciation we all share with this green earth planet.

A quote for this month

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can.”
